Geotechnical Engineer
CSR is currently seeking highly motivated graduates for a Geotechnical Engineering position. Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and contribute to geotechnical investigations and assessments under supervision, and eventually take on projects of your own
- Conduct construction review and monitoring of construction activities
- Prepare preliminary and detailed design reviews, assist in technical analysis, and prepare technical memoranda
- Analyze and prepare geotechnical recommendations and reports for projects
- Conduct and review slope stability and embankment assessments
- Complete and organize materials testing, including field and laboratory testing, to support geotechnical investigation and design recommendations
- Contribute to the development of project proposals and cost estimates
- Develop and manage strong relationships with new and existing clients, field personnel, and other consulting teams
- Communicate with clients, sub-consultants, and internal environmental engineering team members to build professional reputation and confidence
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Geological, Geotechnical, or Civil Engineering
- Demonstrated interest in geotechnical engineering through coursework or relevant work experience (consulting engineering experience would be ideal)
- Demonstrated ability to build and manage relationships with clients
- Experience using AutoCAD, GeoStudio products, and MS Office
- Proven organizational, collaboration, proposal writing, and technical writing skills, along with strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Eligible for registration with EGBC as an Engineer-in-Training or P.Eng.
- Ability and willingness to travel for project work away from the home office
- Physically capable of performing required manual field duties
- Valid Canadian driver’s license with a clean driver abstract
